Message from the Current Librarian

In today's fast moving world of Information Technology, the Library employs numerous tools to both serve our patrons and create a bond relationship with them.  This is evident in our recent massive acquisition of Electronic books accessed via our Virtual Library system and the social media contact using WhatsApp with our patrons.

The Library is the information hub of the University of Eastern Africa, Baraton (UEAB) with approximately seventy thousand (70,000) print books, three hundred (300) journal titles, ten thousand (10,000) electronic books and ten (10) subscriptions to electronic database, including Emerald, Ebscohost and TEEAL.

The integration of ICT into our services have seen the use of tools aimed at guiding today's learner through a contemporary approach to acquiring knowledge and research.  The use of Open Source systems have also enabled the library to partake in contributing to global open source initiatives.  The use of open cloud storage systems and information dissemination platforms have helped in areas such as deploying electronic books, engaging in research assistance and providing up-to-date news items from around the world to our patrons.

We pride in the the delivery of cutting edge print and electronic resources, investing in sources that are relevant and contribute not only to teaching and learning but also serving as leisure reading materials and also literature for children and young adults.  There is a dedicated virtual library just for our kids, which serves as a general purpose learning center.

Welcome to the University of Easter Africa Baraton and to the Library.  Please feel free to get in touch with us for any assistance we can offer in the area of research and informed reading.

Stay Blessed.
